Are you ready for the YFL Fitness Challenge?
This is your chance to become fit and have fun at the same time! YFL is a wellness challenge for all fitness levels. For four weeks, teams will accumulate yardage by completing various physical, mental and social activities at the Arlington Family YMCA. The season starts Monday, October 20.

Registration

  • Registration runs from Tuesday, October 7 through Thursday, October 16.

  • Register at the YFL table in the Wellness Center.

  • Players must be registered by October 16 to be placed on a team and to be eligible to compete.

  • Four person teams will be formed.

During the season

  • Team members will perform the activities listed at the Arlington Family YCMA to gain yardage.

  • Record yardage on your team's yardage sheet.

  • Make sure a staff member verifies and initials yardage after each workout.

  • Points and yardage must be earned at the Arlington Family YMCA.

  • Each week, teams will compete against each other and those with the best record at the end of the season will win the division.

  • In the event of a tie, total yardage will be used to determine the winner.

Earning yardage

  • Maximum of 15 yards per day can be earned from cardio exercise.

  • Maximum of 15 yards per day can be earned from strength training.

  • Maximum of 25 yards per session can be earned from flexibility/abs exercise.

  • Maximum of 20 yards per week can be earned by keeping a weekly food log. These logs must be turned in by 7:00pm on Mondays.

  • Earn 30 yards by wearing your favorite College Team shirt on Fridays. Shirt must be worn during the entire workout and be YMCA appropriate.

  • Earn 100 yards for getting a new member to join.

  • Earn 5 yards per week through weekly trivia.

  • Outdoor activities are accepted.

Awards

Each player will receive a T-shirt if he/she participates in 75% of the challenge. Super Bowl Champions will receive something EXTRA!

Group Exercise
Using two studios, we offer over 70 group exercise classes per week. You’re sure to find something that fits in with your busy schedule and helps you reach your personal goals. Classes include Step, Kickboxing, SilverSneakers®, Active Older Adults, ZUMBA, Kids ZUMBA, Cycling, BOSU, Yoga, Pilates, FLEXX IT© and more.

Fitness Facility Guidelines
Proper attire is required in the Wellness Center. Proper attire is defined as close-toed shoes, athletic type shorts or pants, shirt and/or tank top. No jeans, sandals, bare feet or attire inappropriate for a family facility is allowed. Out of respect for other members, please refrain from using cell phones in the facility. We now require youth to complete 3 orientations prior to using the facility.
