You Can Take Control

Did you know that 1 in 3 adult Americans is at high risk for diabetes? Our Diabetes Prevention Program is a 24-session class to help participants learn about healthier eating, physical activity and other behavior changes to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. New classes are launching at the Dye Clay Family YMCA on Friday, May 25 and at the Brooks Family YMCA on Saturday, June 23. For more information or to see if you qualify, visit Member Services or contact Lisa Peabody.

My30

My30

My30 is our campaign to inspire people to become more physically active through an online community centered on healthy living. We all need 150 minutes of physical activity each week. When you break it down, it’s easier than you think – just 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Whether it’s reconnecting with a friend on the treadmill, de-stressing with lunchtime yoga, or going for a bike ride with your family, everyone can get their 30 each day. You can join the conversation by using the hashtag #My30 on Twitter, tagging My30 in your Facebook posts or posting photos or videos of you and your friends getting your 30 together.
