You Can Take Control
Did you know that 1 in 3 adult Americans is at high risk for diabetes? Our Diabetes Prevention Program is a 24-session class to help participants learn about healthier eating, physical activity and other behavior changes to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. A new class is launching at the Brooks Family YMCA on Saturday, June 23. For more information or to see if you qualify, visit Member Services or contact Lisa Peabody.
Summer Day Camp
We know kids work hard during the school year and look forward to the arrival of summer. So, when the last bell rings, head to the Y for Summer Day Camp, where kids of all ages will develop new skills, discover a new adventure and make new friends along the way. Activities throughout the week include swimming, field trips, sports and games, academic support and more! For more information on camp and special offers, stop by Member Services.
Lose Weight. Gain Support.
At the Y, we're here to help you exceed your goals. Join us at the Brooks Family YMCA on Monday, June 18, from 5:30pm-6:30pm to gain the support and learn the tools to shed the weight. Our Weight Loss Support Group will meet the third Monday of every month to learn about nutrition and diet tips, exchange recipes, hear from trainers about helpful exercises and much more. Contact Sue Stemke for more information.
Kids Music
Join Matt the Musician as he teaches the basics about music theory and appreciation on Saturday mornings at 11:00am and 11:30am. Children will learn how to recreate a song and be exposed to a variety of musical genres. Come on in and enjoy the fun during this free class!
Change Your Community
At the Y, we rely on the generosity of our community to ensure that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive. By adding a small dollar amount to your monthly membership withdrawal, you can help children, adults and families on the First Coast. Now, during the month of May, if you opt to donate through an electronic funds transfer (EFT), you will be entered into a drawing for a free month of membership! Stop by Member Services to learn how you can give today and change your community.
