AquaZone

We are proud to present AquaZone. This is a new program for kids ages 3-12 designed to promote water safety and fun in the pool. The KidZone has teamed up with our Aquatics staff to offer this fun new option for your children while you workout. AquaZone will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30am-10:15am and Friday evening from 6:30pm-7:15pm. We will take the children from the KidZone to the pool for a forty-five minute aquatic experience compromised of songs, games and basic water safety led by our certified swim instructors. The program is limited to 12 participants and requires a small fee of $5 per day. Classes begin February 16, so be sure to register early at the member services desk.

Kids should be dressed in their swimsuits when they are dropped off. Please, bring a change of clothes.

Additional Cardio Kids Classes

We have added three additional Cardio Kids classes led by Nancy Jo. The kids will stretch, dance and get their heart rates up in this fun class designed to help kids start a lifelong habit of exercise. Sign your child into the KidZone, let us know you want them to attend and we will take them to class. Afterwards, we will return them to the KidZone so your workout is not interrupted and they can keep having fun. Or you can drop them off at the conference room and pick them up at the end of class. View our online group exercise schedule for days and times.

First Coast Kids Triathlon

On May 2, more than 400 kids between the ages of 5 and 15 will race to the finish line at the First Coast Kids Triathlon. Triathlons consist of four components - swimming, biking, running and transitions. If children can swim four laps in a pool and ride their bikes for 20 minutes, they can successfully complete a kids triathlon. All race distances are set by the USAT and are designed to be challenging, yet achievable for first-timers. In fact, 80% of last year’s participants were first-timers!

Several branches throughout the First Coast will offer free training programs to get kids ready for the big day. The Brooks Family YMCA will offer a training program starting the week of March 8 on Saturdays from 11:00am-12:00pm.
