Our professional and friendly KidZone staff is available to watch your children while you work out. Children between the ages of six-weeks and 12-years-old are welcome. The use of KidZone is included with your family’s membership.

Please note: You must be at least 12 years old (and a Green Level swimmer) to swim in the program pool without adult supervision (except during Family Swim) and 18 years old to use the Therapy Pool (except for specified classes). Parents with infants are allowed in the Therapy pool for water acclimation. During our PEAK swim times, sharing lanes and circle swimming may be necessary! During aquatic staff trainings, additional lanes may be unavailable for member use.
Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are offered for children and adults. This one-on-one format is ideal for those who are afraid of the water or want to improve on their stroke mechanics. Child lessons are 30 minutes in length and adult lessons are 45 minutes in length. A package of four private lessons costs $100 for members or $175 for non-members.
Stroke Wellness Program
In partnership with Brooks Rehabilitation, we are able to offer the Stroke Wellness Program, which is designed to bring flexibility and mobility back into the lives of stroke survivors. Participants will engage in strength training, endurance exercises, as well as balance and flexibility activities. The program meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Adaptive Aquatics for Children
This program is designed to develop basic swim skills for children with special needs and includes swimming and water safety instruction for educational and leisure purposes. Once in the pool, gentle swim exercises will work muscles and increase circulation and confidence. Depending on age level, classes may be held in either the lap pool or therapy pool. Classes are held on Thursdays from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Members swim for $40 per session and non-members swim for $85 per session.
Adult Adaptive Aquatics
This adults-only class features basic swim instruction with the emphasis on increasing flexibility, balance and range of motion. Small group and one-on-one interaction helps increase your confidence while strengthening your mind and body. The pool is 81 degrees and has a chair lift (up to 400 lbs).
The class is held on Thursdays in 8-week cycles from 12:00pm-1:30pm. There is no fee associated with the class and you do not have to be a member of the YMCA to participate. The maximum number of participants per class is 20 and a sign-up for the class is at the Brooks Family YMCA member services desk, or by calling 904.854.2000. Aqua Arthritis
This specialized class is for individuals suffering from arthritic-like symptoms. You will increase your flexibility and range of motion in the warm water therapy pool. Space is limited to 14 people, which means a reservation and number system is in place for this class. Classes are included with a YMCA membership. Aqua Fitness
A refreshing alternative to land aerobics with low impact on the muscles, bones and joints. This class offers a cardio workout with muscular gains by using the natural resistance of the water. Aqua Fitness is held in the lap pool and is included with a YMCA membership. Please view our group exercise schedule for available days and times.
Assessment Packages
Are you interested in knowing your Body Age? Our Polar® Technology allows the exercise specialist to take you though a series of tests to evaluate muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility; as well as a body composition assessment with circumference measurements and body fat testing. Your Personal Body Age assessment will be created based on your results and you will know how old you are physiologically versus chronologically.
After your Body Age assessment, you have the option of purchasing a Smartkey, which allows you to track your results based on the customized program created by the exercise specialist. The Smartkey keeps track of settings of your equipment, weight lifted, calories burned, and much more.

Cardio Kids
This class is designed to help the kids get their heart rate up and start a lifelong habit of exercise. The class is taught by Jennifer, who has a Master Degree in Physical Education and a passion to get our kids fit! There is no charge for this class. Education from the Exercise Specialist
From 12:00pm-12:30pm on the 1st Wednesday of each month, members are invited to join a featured exercise specialist in the 2nd floor conference room to learn about a fitness / wellness related topic. Each specialist will choose their topic based on education, experience, and passion about what interests them. A Q&A session will follow the presentation to allow time for member questions. Equipment Orientations
Already have an idea of your exercise routine, but want to become familiarized with our equipment? Sign up at the fitness desk for a complimentary Equipment Orientation in which an exercise specialist will take you through our line of 10 machines that provide a total body workout. The exercise specialist will set all of your machine adjustments and select the proper weights.
Family Swim
This time is for families to splash around and swim in their own designated lap lanes. Families can use lifejackets, water noodles, and other water toys.

Group Swim Lessons
Group lessons teach participants water safety, stroke fundamentals, and how to have fun in the water. We offer Parent / Child lessons for children 6-36 months, Preschool Lessons for children 3-5 years old, and Youth Lessons for children 6-12 years old.

Gymnastics
This class is designed so that children, regardless of level or age, reach their highest potential while having fun! Your child will not only increase his or her physical fitness, but will also build self esteem. Through this recreational gymnastics program your child will develop good habits that can last a lifetime.
