Youth Sports

YMCA Sports Philosophy
The YMCA Youth Sports philosophy is unique. We emphasize good sportsmanship, teamwork, values, and fellowship with others, in addition to teaching fundamental skills. We are not concerned with wins or losses, keeping score or league standings. The two important goals as a parent and a coach are to make sure each child has fun and learns the fundamentals of each sport. The YMCA enforces certain rules to help ensure that this philosophy is fostered:

*** NO TRY-OUTS OR CUTS
*** EACH PARTICIPANT PLAYS AT LEAST HALF THE GAME
*** EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON PARTICIPATION, NOT WINNING

Visit Quickscores for up-to-date game and practice schedules, registration forms, rules and much more!

Youth Basketball League
Ages 4 – 17
YMCA Youth Basketball allows boys and girls,
ages 4-17, the opportunity to learn Basketball skills, play on a team and have fun! Involvement is fundamental to the game and every child attending practice will play half of every game. The fees for Youth Basketball include the players uniform (Jersey), end of the season award, equipment, gym maintenance and leadership. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Registration Dates:
Winter 2008
Premier League: October 6th – October 30th
Super Sports League: October 6th – November 6th

Team Sponsorships

Each team is highly encouraged to find a sponsor for their team. Sponsorships help to insure that every child who wishes to play sports may do so. Each youth sports season approximately 65 children are able to participate in the YMCA youth programs thanks to community involvement through team sponsorship. Please see the front desk for details!

Coaches Needed!

Spend time with your child and help out your community! We are looking for committed coaches that can be great role models for Soccer, Flag Football, Volleyball & Basketball players! Please see the front desk for details!
