General Information

Who can participate?

The First Coast Games is a co-ed competition open to all full-time and part-time employees in each participating organization. Employees must meet the following criteria to participate:

1. Must be at least 18 years old as of July 1st, 2008.

 
2. Must be employed by the sponsoring company or a staff member of the agency or organization at least 30 days prior to the competition.

The First Coast Games Competition Committee reserves the right to review all team entries relative to eligibility.

How can I participate in the Wellness Challenge?

You will need to submit a Wellness Challenge Application to your company’s Team Representative deadlines for submission is June 9, 2008. If you are selected to participate you will be contacted by YMCA staff the week of June 16.

How can I participate in Competitive Events?

You will need to contact your team captain for each respective event to participate.

When and where do Competitive Events take place?

Competitive events will be held July - October. The majority of events will be held at YMCA of Florida’s First Coast facilities.

Will our team be able to practice for events?

Yes, individual team captains will communicate with the First Coast Games Director to organize practices at YMCA facilities for appropriate events.

How many are on a team roster?

There is no cap on the number of overall team members. The minimum and maximum number or participants will vary for each event.

Will there be more than one team per event?

No, each corporation will only be allowed to enter one team per event.
 

What are we competing for?

The winner of the 2008 First Coast Games will be awarded with the VyStar Corporate Cup. There will be a trophy presented to the winning team of each competitive event.

How does a team accumulate points for the Corporate Cup?

Each team will earn a certain amount of points based on participation and performance in the Wellness Challenge and the Competitive Events.
