Adaptive Sports and
Recreation
The Brooks Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program began January,
2007. The program is run out of the Brooks Family YMCA. After rehabilitation, being able to live with increased
independence is a big accomplishment, but isn't always enough.
The program makes available sports that are adapted just
for them. Programs include Wheelchair Basketball,
Handcycling, Rowing, Wheelchair Rugby and Tennis.
The program is open to people of all ages with a physical
disability at no cost. No previous experience is
required...just the desire for fun, fitness and friendship.
Participation at both recreational and competitive levels is
available.
